In 2011, ABNY celebrated its 40th Anniversary, but never before have we been so focused on cultivating the next generation of New York's civic leaders. ABNY launched its Young Professionals network in the summer of 2011 with a cocktail party sponsored by AT&T. The event was a tremendous success, drawing more than 200 Young Professionals for cocktails and a program featuring City Councilman Daniel Garodnick and Samantha Rudin, the granddaughter of ABNY's founding father, Lew Rudin. The event was a unique opportunity for the future leaders of New York City to get together to network, learn more about the ABNY mission and explore the strong tradition of civic engagement.
12 Conversations in 2012
To kick off the 2012 programming, ABNY launched quarterly cocktail parties that provide an excellent networking opportunity. Interspersed between the cocktail parties are monthly "Coversations" with industry leaders, topical experts and thought influencers. These distinguished professionals will meet with ABNY's young leaders to discuss the importance of civic engagement and generally raise awareness about the critical issues facing our city and state. Topics to be addressed in 2012 include, energy policy, organized labor, transportation infrastructure, philanthropy and technology.
