THE ABNY FOUNDATION CELEBRATES SPIRIT OF ABNY AWARDS Hundreds of ABNY members and guests mixed with many of the City’s movers and shakers on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at The ABNY Foundation’s second annual Spirit of ABNY Awards fundraising cocktail party at Blue Fin. This year’s honorees included Lew Leone, Fox5/My9; Kenneth E. Raske, Greater New York Hospital Association; and Edward Skyler, Deputy Mayor for Operations. Mayor Edward I. Koch was presented with the Lew Rudin Founder’s Award.
At the event, Chairman Bill Rudin announced that The ABNY Foundation was making a contribution to the New York Says Thank You Foundation, an organization whose mission is to commemorate the support given to New Yorkers by Americans from all across the country following 9/11 by sending volunteers from New York City each year on the 9/11 Anniversary in order to help rebuild communities around the United States affected by natural or man-made disasters. Also announced by Chairman Rudin is a project spearheaded by ABNY and member TransPerfect with the FDNY Foundation to create new educational multicultural collateral for the Fire Department’s Fire Zone on the Road program.
